True Patriot Love Foundation- Tribute Dinner 2012
True Patriot Love Foundation – True Patriot Love Tribute Dinner 2012 The True Patriot Love Tribute Dinner has become the largest celebration in support of military families our country has ever seen, raising over $11 million since its inaugural gala in 2009. The event is attended by Toronto’s most influential business and community leaders, as well as many distinguished military representatives, celebrities and Canadian dignitaries each year. The evening includes: VIP and general reception, silent auction, live auction, evening entertainment, centerpiece auction and speeches from politicians and Canadian Forces members. In 2012, to add a fresh idea to the fundraising efforts during the event was our Send a Kid to Camp program. General (retired) Rick Hiller – one of Camp Maple Leaf’s founders – asked the attendees to show their support for our military families by EACH paying to send a Canadian Forces child to Camp Maple Leaf. The event attracted many celebrities and dignitaries including Laureen Harper, The Right Honourable David Johnston the Governor General of Canada, the Chief of Defence Staff General Tom T.J. Lawson, Larry Tannebaum, and baseball great Joe Carter. The evening’s entertainment featured performances by the a cappella group, Countermeasure who performed the Canadian National anthem and Blue Rodeo who closed the evening.
